40 sleeps to go- Appreciation Post

You know when sometimes you make little decisions in your life and you don’t think much about it at the time, but later down the track you realize if you hadn’t made that particular desicion, the course of your life might be very different.

I want to take a moment to appreciate and thank some people that have highly influenced myself to get to the point that I am now at in my life.

Because there have been more than my fair share of little moments looking back that really have influenced my life to get me to where I am today.

Whether it’s the choice to study, travel, become friends with someone, take a job or just a really small moment in time that becomes something much bigger!

It has been a long time coming to do something this grand and spectacular with my journey in life.

I would like to thank my doctors, from a whole 14 years ago who helped save my leg, and of course, my life.

To my surgeon, Dr Stalley, who have marveled the medical world with his techniques and procedures, and that I was one of his guinea pigs and lucky enough to keep my leg.

To my teachers at high school. My English teacher who knew I had a passion for writing and going into detail even when I didn’t know it. My dramas teachers, who taught me that silliness is always good for the soul.

My employers, who have taught me responsibly and given me the opportunity of a job and to broaden my skillset.

To my work colleagues who without, wouldn’t have gotten through the hard days and made the great days even better.

To my Tafe teachers, Zali and Sandra. They have both taught me a trade for life and gave all of the encouragement and support in the world to pass and succeed!

To my friends, the ones that will always be there. The friendships that have been and that still are. The friends that even though it might have been a whole year since we talked, nothing has changed. The travel friends that I have met and the ones I am yet to meet. The ones that have inspired me to go above and beyond.

And of course last but not least, my family. I’ve been on quite a journey over the last few years. I know I can look back and see where I’ve grown, progressed and matured thanks to my family. The tears, tantrums and dummy spits. The laughs, gatherings, drinks, a wedding, family dinners and girly shopping trips. Thank you for everything and more πŸ’œ

You know when you are a child, even a teenager, you look at grown ups in a certain way and think, yep, that’s how I am going to be when I grow up.

But when you finally get there, to a certain age, it’s like holy crap, things have turned out so differently.

I wouldn’t have it any other way though. I’ve been through the shit and painful times, my surgeries on my leg were a challenge but the end result is more than I could have hoped for.

Now that I’m really set on chasing my dreams and conquering the world, I know that things couldn’t have gone better, I’m doing what I need to do for me, and it wouldn’t be without the help of amazing people along the way.
