Sunday May 1st – Banff Adventure Day

Bonnie and I decided it was time to start going on adventures around the area. ‘Sunday Funday’ to locals means going to Banff, getting a hotel room and a big night of pre drinking then heading the the club in Banff for a huge night.

We decided to re-invent ‘Sunday Funday’ to a fun day getting some sun, hiking and exploring the history of the Canadian Rockies.

So we jumped in the car and headed up to Banff after some packing and preparing with bottles of water, swim suits and sunnies!

First stop was Nourish Bistro in Banff! OH MY GOD, the food there is to die for by the way. I’ve been there twice before now and each time they do not disappoint!

We both ordered a super fruit smoothie and I ordered the ‘El Fajita Loco’ (lettuce fajitas 😍).

After lunch we headed over to the historic site of the ‘Cave and Basin’.

It is known to be the birthplace of Canada’s National Park system, and we could certainly see why.

Next stop was the Banff Upper Hot Springs for a dip in the pool.

However when we got there, not only was the pool at a whopping 40 degrees (not sure how keen we were considering the day was warm anyway) but there were people everywhere!

It was way too busy so we have it a skip and went to check out the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Bonnie hadn’t been there yet.

After exploring for a little bit, we came across a secret little hidden gem, Bow Falls.

We made a quick little turn after we left the Fairmont Banff Springs and found a beautiful little spot to catch some sun and admire at the view.

We decided we’d had a big day adventuring so we headed into the cbd of Banff, did a little bit of shopping before finishing our day at the Magpie and Stump for dinner.
